The festival grounds at Marathi School, Gholwad, are slowly awakening — bamboo structures taking shape, vibrant drapes catching the breeze, as the community comes forward in preparation of the upcoming festival. With every frame raised and every detail set in place, a space of celebration and culture is coming alive.

As we mark Global Tourism Resilience Day, it reminds us that the strength of tourism lies in its people, traditions, and living heritage.

Presented by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, the Gholwad Festival is all set to welcome you — and this year, the celebration becomes even more special with the inauguration of a Living Heritage Museum, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the region’s rich cultural legacy.

The tourism souvenir development workshop with bamboo concluded with an exhibition at Oxygen Park, Ramnagar, Jawhar, showcasing beautifully crafted bamboo products developed during the training. The range of products addressed utility and aesthetics in a diverse manner.

The display was appreciated by visiting dignitaries, who acknowledged its strong potential for livelihood generation, skill enhancement and the promotion of bamboo-based tourism souvenirs.

For the women artisans, it was a proud milestone — strengthening Jawhar’s intangible cultural heritage by enabling them to lead, create and present their work to a wider audience.
